Abstract
► Recent prescribed burning may be inadequate to conserve the longleaf pine ecosystem. ► We modeled how site and landscape attributes influenced where burns were conducted. ► Burns were preferentially placed on sites already in good condition. ► Degraded sites located near development were not likely to be burned. ► Facilitating burning near development would help conservation of the ecosystem.
