Abstract
⺠Management strategy evaluation was applied to an endangered salmon population. ⺠Population dynamics and the management process were simulated simultaneously. ⺠Trade-offs between extinction risk and fishing opportunity were quantified. ⺠Management strategies that reduced take at low abundance reduced extinction risk. ⺠Alternative management strategies had variable effects on fishing opportunity.
