Abstract
⺠Results from the 2010 gorilla census using genetic analyses of fecal samples. ⺠Genetic analyses improved the accuracy of the population estimate. ⺠Population was estimated to be 480 individuals. ⺠Population has increased by 26% since 2003 (an annual rate of 3.7%). ⺠Nearly all increase is due to relatively higher growth rate for habituated groups.
