Abstract
⺠Standing burned trees and shrubs were used as perches by frugivorous birds. ⺠Perch effect increased seed arrival into burned communities. ⺠The maintenance of standing woody vegetation favored passive restoration of burned areas. ⺠Post-fire logging could limit early recovery of forests of northwestern Patagonia.
