Abstract
► Productivity may be a valuable biodiversity surrogate for conservation. ► We assess distributions of protected areas and anthropogenic threats along productivity in Canada. ► Overall, parks have little bias. Large parks are strongly biased to low productivity. ► Bias is more extreme and variable within ecozones or management categories. ► Small and productive parks are under greater threat.
