Abstract
⺠Roads decrease genetic diversity by reducing population gene flow and abundance. ⺠Road research has focused on effects of limited gene flow on genetic fragmentation. ⺠We simulate road effects of isolation and reduced abundance on genetic diversity. ⺠Reduced abundance has the greatest negative effect on genetic diversity. ⺠Road mitigation will benefit from studies of road effects on abundance and diversity.
