Abstract
minimum to maximum were ranged between, dissolve oxygen (3.04-9.30 mg/L), pH (6.57-7.64), EC (1.193-1.417 mS/cm), TDS (577-686 mg/L), salinity (0.6-0.7%), COD (290-372 mg/L), chlorides (221.20-836.62 mg/L), hardness (166-174 mg/L), alkalinity (240-500 mg/L), phosphates (0.07-4.52 mg/L), nitrates (2.9-4.1 mg/L), SiO2 (1491-4620 μg/L), Na (146.2-159.8 mg/L), Ca (60-140 mg/L), Mg (34-41 mg/L), K (3-17.4 mg/L), Hg (0.024-0.105 mg/L), Ni (0-0.0051 mg/L), Cd (0-0.0400 mg/L), Zn (0.0175-0.0338 mg/L), Cu (0.0216-0.0643 mg/L), Fe (0.0932-0.2710 mg/L). The result indicated that all studied parameters were within the defined limits of NEQS of Pakistan for municipal and industrial effluents except two parameters mercury and COD. This phenomenon is completely negation of Environmental Act 1997 of Pakistan. Proper way of operation and imposing laws and regulations and maintaining those strictly, can reduce pollution level.
