Abstract
- Constructed wetlands are very cost effective systems for COD and N removal.
- Constructed wetlands may be an economical option for N and P removal in the effluent of secondary treatment.
- The nitrogen is very easily uptaken by Cyperus alternifolius which is converted to NO3-N.
- The high removal efficiency (97%) of NO3-N was achieved.
