Abstract
⺠The symbiotic crab Calyptraeotheres garthi inhabits two limpet hosts. ⺠We expected female crabs to display preferences for the higher quality host. ⺠However, females preferred the original host species regardless of the benefits. ⺠Host habituation might explain source-host fidelity. ⺠Solitary females appear to be sedentary and males might use a pure-search strategy.
