Abstract
► UV-radiation affect elemental ratios in phytoplankton, typically by reduced C:P. ► Tests of 33P-uptake in three arctic, marine diatom species was performed. ► We found no general support for enhanced P-uptake under UV-radiation. ► The tested species had very different P-uptake kinetics. ► RNA:protein ratio responded to light, yet not specifically to UV-radiation.
