Abstract
⺠We determine substrate preference of southern king crab Lithodes santolla larvae. ⺠Zoea stages are benthic and we provide first evidence of their substrate selection. ⺠Megalopa also selects complex substrata as shells, gravel and cobble over sand. ⺠Substrate selection pattern seems to be a density-dependent process. ⺠Substrate selection occurs during both nocturnal and diurnal periods.
