Abstract
► We studied the coupling between microphytobenthos and fiddler crabs feeding. ► Both microphytobenthos and crab feeding had biweekly uncoupled cycles. ► Environmental variables and mechanical constraints may drive the uncoupling. ► Feeding impact on microphytobenthos was low and variable with tides. ► Fiddler crabs may not exert important control on primary production.
