Abstract
► Nutrient limitation of seagrasses decreased with increased distance from ocean. ► The nutrient that was most limiting seagrasses varied among tidal creek sites. ► Microalgae was strongly nutrient colimited and varied spatially. ► No consistent among-site trends emerged for nutrient limitation for microalgae. ► Site-specific biological factors may drive spatial trends of nutrient availability.
