Abstract
⺠We study red porgy larvae feeding performance and behavior at first feeding. ⺠Prey movement is not decisive for their detection and capture by larvae. ⺠Live or inert feed and diet shifts produced similar larval feeding performances. ⺠Gut fullness and evacuation rate are long duration and different timing processes. ⺠Swimming activity reflects short-term variation and morphological development.
