Abstract
► In Senegalese sole there is an influence of light-dark cycles in routine metabolism. ► O2 consumption of fasted individuals increases during the dark phase. ► Individuals are capable of shifting O2 consumption rhythms as a response of feeding. ► Individual metabolic rate is consistent under various physiological conditions (fasting, fed, day and night).
