Abstract
⺠Mola mola in the NW Atlantic spent N80% of time in the top 200 m of the water column and dove to depths > 800 m. ⺠Ocean sunfish in the NW Atlantic shifted their diving behavior from shallow and surface oriented in the summer to deeper diving and less surface time in the winter. ⺠Ocean sunfish in the Gulf Stream avoided surface waters and dove to depths of 400-800 m. ⺠M. mola exhibited a diel pattern in diving behavior.
