Coupling the Tradeoff Analysis Model with a market equilibrium model to analyze economic and environmental outcomes of agricultural production systems

► We link the Tradeoff Analysis Model to a market equilibrium model using a top-down as well as a bottom-up approach. ► A two-way linkage between market and farm is required to assess economic and environmental outcomes of agricultural systems. ► The TOA-ME determines the spatial distribution of environmental and economic outcomes associated to the market equilibrium. ► Market equilibrium analysis is important on the assessment of impacts of a policy intervention or a technological change.
