Abstract
► We employed two models to find the optimal strategies to control blackberry. ► Results show that rust (Phragmidium violaceum) is not worth introducing. ► Fewer number of control options are required when the infestation area increases. ► Chemicals can be replaced with mowing when the labour cost of spray increases. ► If the efficacy of chemicals increases, cheaper chemicals become optimal.
