Abstract
► We built a spatially explicit and individual-based SEIR model of Mopeia virus. ► Sharp density thresholds are observed for persistence, not invasion. ► Host dispersal is important for the spread and persistence of the infection. ► In the year following invasion, herd immunity can hinder persistence. ► The model is most sensitive to transmission rate and infectious period.
