Abstract
⺠Models of the macroparasite Argulus foliaceus in trout fisheries are presented. ⺠The effects of different stocking methods on the parasite are examined. ⺠High stocking levels are found to lead to increased parasite burdens. ⺠The reduction in rod capture (caused by host morbidity and reduction in appetite) is examined. ⺠The practise of increasing stocking to maintain “rod averages” is shown to be counterproductive.
