Abstract
⺠A weakly beneficial mutant can take over slower than a neutral one (slowdown). ⺠We link slowdown to the sojourn times in intermediate states.⺠Fixation time in a small population can be non-monotonic with selection strength. ⺠We identify generic classes of 2Ã2 evolutionary games that are non-monotonic.
