Abstract
⺠Human populations contain anti-social punishers - defectors who punish cooperators. ⺠We show anti-social punishment can prevent the coevolution of cooperation in groups. ⺠Group size and dispersal frequency alter coevolutionary outcomes for social strategies. ⺠Anti-social punishment reduces the basin of attraction for pro-social behaviour.
