Abstract
► We model ParA/ParB-mediated chromosome segregation in Caulobacter crescentus. ► ParB binding and diffusion with ParA depolymerization yield directed ParB movement. ► The protein TipN controls ParB movement by altering ParA cytoplasmic concentrations. ► Control of ParA polymerization is essential for proper chromosome segregation.
