Abstract
⺠Linear leg elasticity can be assumed for running, not so for walking. ⺠Simulations incorporating the bipedal spring-mass model are successful for moderate walking and medium running speeds. ⺠Model predictions overestimate center of mass motion and ground reaction forces. ⺠Model predictions underestimate contact time.
