Abstract
⺠We model the elastic and viscoelastic response of a type I collagen fiber. ⺠We consider the contributions of microfibrils, interfibrillar matrix, and crosslinks. ⺠We perform incremental stress relaxation tests on individual collagen fibers. ⺠We use the experimental data to estimate the model parameters.
