Abstract
⺠We consider cooperation of the MAPK cascade with scaffolds. ⺠Double MEK and ERK phosphorylation enables signaling via scaffolds. ⺠Scaffolds assure high specificity of signaling at low signals. ⺠Scaffolding and double phosphorylation in MAPK cascades coevolved.
