Abstract
⺠External forcing changes conditions for population invasion. ⺠Average initial invader growth rate defines simple sign test for invasion. ⺠Algebraic treatment possible for moderate strength forcing. ⺠Analysis helps solve the exclusion control problem if invasion has taken place. ⺠Use of threshold control maps simplifies this task for management.
