Abstract
⺠Multiscale Modeling of pulmonary gas (O2 and NO) uptake in the human lung. ⺠We divide the human lung into micro (RBCs), meso (capillaries), macro (lung) scales. ⺠Liapunov-Schmidt scheme of bifurcation theory used to reduce model dimension. ⺠The above model is applied to quantify hypoxemia in NO induced methemoglobinemia. ⺠Our simulations reveal the disease mechanism and the critical levels of NO â¼203 ppm.
