Abstract
⺠An inland northern Rocky Mountain population of Laricobius nigrinus was discovered. ⺠Inland beetles were more cold tolerant than coastal northwestern beetles. ⺠Climate matching confirmed that inland collection locations match the eastern United States better than coastal locations. ⺠Inland L. nigrinus appear preferable for classical biological control of Adelges tsugae in cold regions of its invaded range.
