Abstract
► An inland northern Rocky Mountain population of Laricobius nigrinus was discovered. ► Inland beetles were more cold tolerant than coastal northwestern beetles. ► Climate matching confirmed that inland collection locations match the eastern United States better than coastal locations. ► Inland L. nigrinus appear preferable for classical biological control of Adelges tsugae in cold regions of its invaded range.
