Abstract
ⶠWith the PEC elastomer coating of flax shives, the purpose to design insulating concrete is reached while consuming much less energy than thermal processes. ⶠCompatibility between lignocellulosic aggregates and cement is improved. ⶠThe treatment process uses agriculture byproducts and organic reagents non-toxic to the environment. ⶠThis coating is an alternative to cement-sucrose and oil coatings encountered in the literature.
