Abstract
▶ All untreated samples did not have any bending and compression strength exposed after 3 months outdoor condition. ▶ Reduction in strength properties of the untreated samples was found to be more drastic ranging from 0.53% to twice comparable to the results of 3 month exposure time. ▶ Mechanical properties and surface quality of the specimens plybamboo decreases when exposed for 1 to 12 months. ▶ All samples were also observed not having bending and compression strength after exposure time of 6-month. ▶ For further studies, it could be desirable to investigate the formaldehyde emission of treated samples and also determine the hardness and dimensional stability to have a better understanding of plybamboo under outdoor conditions.
