Abstract
► PCR amplified HvCSLF6 gene from two parents identified 18 HvCslF6 allelic variations. ► Five HvCslF6 genetic markers were confirmed to be associated with beta-glucan. ► Most significant allelic variation is predicted to affect HvCSLF6 phosphorylation. ► Phosphorylation status can affect CES activity. ► Utility of genetic markers in predicting grain beta-glucan concentration.
