Abstract
⺠Majority of peanut storage facilities were poorly ventilated and dusty. ⺠37% of peanut samples in Kenya exceeded the national aflatoxin regulatory limit. ⺠Peanut butter and spoilt peanuts had the highest aflatoxin contamination levels. ⺠The type of peanut market outlet significantly influences aflatoxin contamination. ⺠Storage of peanuts in plastic material promotes aflatoxin contamination.
