Abstract
⺠Adult zebrafish were exposed for 90 d to diets augmented with selenomethionine. ⺠Swim performance (Ucrit) was impaired in zebrafish fed 3 μg Se/g dry mass. ⺠O2 consumption, standard metabolic rate, and cost of transport were greater. ⺠Aerobic scope of fish fed elevated dietary selenomethionine was lesser than controls. ⺠mRNA abundance of several key proteins involved in energetics was altered.
