Abstract
⺠The effect of uranium exposure was examined on fish olfactory and lateral systems using SEM. ⺠Uranium uptake in organs: olfactory rosettes and bulbs, brain, skin, and muscles, was measured. ⺠Uranium displayed a strong affinity for sensory structures directly in contact with the medium. ⺠At the end of experiment, uranium remained present in non negligible quantity in sensory tissues. ⺠Fish exposed to uranium showed severe sensory tissue alterations in both sensory systems.
