Abstract
⺠Presence of two MAPKs in two species of Arctic kelps has been shown. ⺠Activation of p38-like and JNK-like proteins occurs under temperature and UV stress. ⺠A p38-like protein of 40 kDa in L. solidungula and 42 kDa in S. latissima was detected. ⺠JNKs had 42 and 36 kDa in L. solidungula and 40 and 36 kDa in S. latissima. ⺠Differential MAPKs activation response occurs in these Arctic kelp species.
