Abstract
⺠Aquatic-specific drowning hot spots were detected using kernel estimation and local Moran's I. ⺠Majority of drowning victims were white, male, and children aged 0-4. ⺠Private swimming pools and open water were two leading risky places. ⺠Blacks were more likely to drown in public pools and white victims were often in private pools. ⺠Drowning density is associated with ranks of median income and educational attainment.
