Abstract
⺠We use PCA to create spatially-explicit indices of socio-ecological vulnerability. ⺠Aggregate indices are produced for the Southern Africa Development Community. ⺠We identify four statistically independent components of vulnerability. ⺠Our indices highlight spatial variability in regional vulnerability. ⺠PCA based indices represent a potentially information rich policy tool.
