Abstract
⺠Coast live oaks were inoculated with Phytophthora ramorum, cause of sudden oak death. ⺠Fungi were isolated from sapwood before and after beetle attacks. ⺠13 Fungal species were found after infection alone and 26 following beetle attacks. ⺠Beetles reared from infected trees carried known and suspected tree pathogens and decay fungi. ⺠Beetle attacks may accelerate death of infected coast live oaks.
