Abstract
► Three levels of release were applied to Oregon white oak suppressed by Douglas-fir. ► Diameter growth of fully released oak trees was greatest and increased over time. ► Fully released oak trees had greater acorn production than partially released trees. ► Released oaks with large crowns had the greatest acorn production and growth. ► Long-suppressed oak trees appear capable of rapid recovery following release.
