Abstract
⺠We tested the effects of conservation-oriented partial cutting on oak forest epiphytes. ⺠Species density increased for both lichens and bryophytes, also species of conservation concern. ⺠Our BACI design also revealed higher colonization and lower extinction for lichens in managed plots. ⺠Lichens of conservation concern dispersed more than 60 m over 8 years. ⺠A mild form of biofuel harvesting may represent sustainable resource-use in these forests.
