Abstract
► We tested the effects of conservation-oriented partial cutting on oak forest epiphytes. ► Species density increased for both lichens and bryophytes, also species of conservation concern. ► Our BACI design also revealed higher colonization and lower extinction for lichens in managed plots. ► Lichens of conservation concern dispersed more than 60 m over 8 years. ► A mild form of biofuel harvesting may represent sustainable resource-use in these forests.
