Abstract
⺠We analyzed the effect of site on biomass in Juniperus thurifera. ⺠Soil quality affects allometries, biomass stocks and biomass allocation. ⺠Pruning effect is as an additional predictor of crown and coarse root biomass. ⺠Differences in allocation between sites explain strategies for resource capture. ⺠Biomass stocks and root:shoot ratio in poor soil are singular at a worldwide level.
