Abstract
⺠India's decentralised forest reform partly recognises tribals' traditional rights. ⺠Reform promoted individualisation of forest property in Bhil tribal households. ⺠Tribal people demand individual citizenship rights instead of collective rights. ⺠More conflicts between households due to break-up of kinship-based forest rights. ⺠Individual tenure rights influence tribal households' relation with the state.
