Abstract
⺠The Menominee Tribe has a strong record of sustainable forest management. ⺠Menominee sustainability is based on valuing the timber stock for itself. ⺠Their ethics are consistent with the Chichilnisky intertemporal welfare criterion. ⺠The federal termination policy moved the Menominee from their preferred position. ⺠The Menominee firmly returned to their preferred path through political action.
