Abstract
This research paper proposes an own working methodology for the generation of 3D virtual models of historical cities. This methodology is based on the combined use of laser scanning and photogrammetric techniques, which complement each other. As a result, a 3D virtual model with high geometric accuracy and visual completeness is obtained and integrated into a web-based application. Resulting virtual models can be used for touristic promotion, navigation, urban planning, documentation and preservation of cultural heritage, etc.
