Abstract
This paper is focused on the development of a model for the simulation of the absorption and regeneration system using potassium taurate for the capture of carbon dioxide. Detailed modelling of this system is currently limited by the lack of thermodynamic parameters for use in simulations. ASPEN Plus® has been chosen as the framework for developing the model. Species not present by default in the database have been added and appropriate parameters have been determined for obtaining a reliable description of the Vapor-Liquid-Solid Equilibrium by means of the Electrolyte-NRTL method.
