⺠In the 1950 foam tablets were seen as a solution to the 'population explosion'. ⺠This local contraceptive was widely diffused in developing countries. ⺠The marketing potential of foam tablets generated intense competition. ⺠Tablet's promoters failed to understand the needs of women in the Global South.
