Abstract
⺠Teleology is a naturalistically respectable mode of scientific explanation. ⺠Teleology is compatible with the completeness of scientific mechanism. ⺠An explanation comprises two parts: an invariance relation and an elucidating description. ⺠Mechanistic and teleological explanations offer are complete and mutually autonomous.
