Abstract
There is an urgent need for reducing the cost of PEM electrolysis. The bipolar plates are the most expensive component of the stack. Coatings of Ti and 8Â wt% Pt/Ti on stainless steel are developed, offering full protection to the substrate in simulated and real environment of a PEM electrolyser. Thus, the cost of the stack can be largely reduced.275
