Abstract
⺠An ion-beam treatment has been employed to modify pore structures of electrodes. ⺠The etching of surplus ionomer turns catalyst layers highly rough and porous. ⺠Modification results in a substantial improvement of mass-transport processes. ⺠The ion-beam-treated MEAs exhibit improved performance for the DMFC.
